The Integrated approach to Technology in Education (ITE- An initiative of TATA Trusts) was first conceptualized in September 2010 and piloted in May 2012 at the Trusts’ supported project at Street Survivors India (SSI) in West Bengal. The purpose was to provide an opportunity for adolescents to interact, explore and authenticate their learning at school, using technology. The integrated approach to technology in education referred here, assumes the following prerequisites-
- Student use of technology to create learning artifacts
- Integrated with curriculum
- Focused on learning achievement
- Teacher designed instruction
